Install went descent. Ending the stitching was the biggest pain. I ended up buying leather glue to glue the start and end seams. Also to get it to lay down better. Took a few hours to do. Would recommend pulling the air bag at the very least.

This is a good product. I'm glad this project is finished. It was very time consuming and frustrating at times. It wasn't a technical project requiring great skill, just a bit of mechanical ability and patience.

The most frustrating thing for me was keeping the thread from twisting and knotting up. I used a small screwdriver to keep tension on the loop as I pulled the thread through. I'm also glad I chose black thread, it will hide a couple of mistakes I made in the stitching. If I had chosen a different color, I would have had to be much more careful. The kit includes 2 spools of thread, which is twice what you'll need to complete the project.

I will end up getting some glue to secure the material that gets tucked under the airbag. It still sticks out a bit.

I also added a heating element under the cover, so I can have a heated steering wheel. It added some girth to the wheel, but the material stretched sufficiently to still cover. For anyone who wants to add the heating element, you should be more precise than I was when making relief cuts so that there are no gaps between the fabric. You can sort of feel and see the pattern through the wheel cover. These kits are easy to find on Amazon or elsewhere. Just search for "universal heated steering wheel kit".

To summarize, just take your time and be patient, and allow several hours from start to finish.

You're basically sewing this cover onto your steering wheel, which is time consuming and not very easy to do, but when completed it doesn't look like a cover, it looks like it was meant to be there. The only complaint is that I didn't use the double stick tape, instructions mentioned you don't have to and didn't want the bulge or potential damage to original leather wheel skipped it. After a couple weeks the cover stretched a bit and now feels a little loose on the wheel, not much, but it does move slightly. It might have been good to have the inside portion of the cover to be a material that doesn't slide. Overall, I'm happy with it though, and if you go into it expecting to spend some time installing it you'll be happy with the results.

Item as described. The feel and look I rate excellent with the final product looking flawless. The instructions could use some improving and the provided scissors were bent (couldn't be used) but no big deal. My wheel is a 4-spoke and it initially appeared like the back side spoke flaps weren't big enough. It ultimately did (lots of stretching). Expect for the install to take over 2 hours (and this was performed by a professional upholsterer) if you want perfection. And yes, the steering wheel was removed.

The cover fit well. It was nice and tight and follows the contours nicely on my 09 Tacoma. The instructions arent the clearest, but I have some experience and there are other videos and writeups out there that help. Not a terrible job, took a little over 2 hours start to finish, including removing and re-installing the wheel. Feels like a new wheel.

My 2004 Land Cruiser needed its steering wheel covered as it was already really weathered from the previous owner. I previously bought a steering wheel cover from a different vendor but it didn't wrap around the steering wheel stalks and it had to go.

So I purchased this cover as it shows that it covers everything where you would place your hands on the steering wheel. They give you enough threading to do all sides but you have to make sure you calculate each area for the amount of threading (if you are going to double stitch as I did). I started at the bottom and worked my way to the sides and then finally the top largest area.

I saved one of the two rolls of thread for the top portion.

Fitment is great though there are some small end pieces behind the steering wheel stalk that are slightly too long (shaved some off with scissors). And a slight pocket of gap in a crevice on one side (could be a stitching issue on my end).

All in all it's a good product. They say in their videos that you don't have to take off the steering wheel, but trust me, it's a lot easier if you do take it off.

Expect roughly 2-2.5 hours for completion as it's a slow process depending on how meticulous you want to be.
